Macular degeneration (AMD)

It is a disease that affects the macula, the central area of the retina. It is the most common cause of severe vision decrease in the western world.

Glaucoma

Also defined as an irreversible optic nerve disease, may be due to several causes but the most important risk factor is elevated intraocular pressure (IOP). It is the second cause of blindness in developed countries.

Dry Eye

It is caused by poor lubrication of the eye, affecting the eyelids, the tear layer, the conjunctiva and cornea. It is very common.  In fact is one of the leading causes of medical consultations to the vision professionals.

Presbyopia

Commonly known as eyestrain, it is the loss of the ability to focus on nearby objects. It happens as you get older, so, it is normal that it begins to appear after 40 years old.
